The Days of Noah ..... are we reliving those days?

New International Version (©2011)
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Genesis 6:5 The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

The indictment against the world – Romans 3:10-18

“As it is written there is none righteous, no not one; there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together becometh unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known; There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Commentary

An indictment is a formal, written charge, and every indictment must have at least one count, one specific charge to it. The more serious the crimes, the more counts, to the indictment. Paul immediately follows this pattern quoting by quoting a series of Old Testament passages which demonstrates in no less than fourteen counts, the perversity and depravity of the world. This is the same theme is seen in Psalm 14:1-3. Righteousness is not only the key word in this epistle, it is the criterion by which sin is judged.

For many, many years now, there has been much discussion, debate, and argument about Thomas Jefferson's statement in his letter to the Danbury Baptist Association, "separation of Church and State"; as it pertains to the First Amendment. I don't care to get into that discussion here. Through the past thirty-five years or more, this nation, the United States of America has become divided on the relevance of this issue, more than any other issue impacting this country, including "race".

When you review the situation of the historical days of Noah, and compare the situation in this nation and around the world globally, you must ask, "Are conditions different today than during the historical days of Noah?" Another question to answer would be "Is the indictment written by the Apostle Paul, as quoted above from the Book of Romans, on target with a description of the course of events here in this Nation and/or around the world?"

I am not advocating being judgemental of others, but rather being judgemental of ourselves, and reviewing and accessing our own lives, being accountable for our own actions, and taking responsibility for those actions, including the applicable and existing legal consequences.
